Homemade Biscuits

Source So Fat, Low Fat, No Fat

March 10, 2005

Makes 8 thick or 12 thin biscuits

Per Serving

Fat: 1 gram each

Ingredients

3 cups self-rising flour

1 to 1 ½ cups skim milk, or enough to make a sticky dough

Instructions

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees. Spray a baking sheet with vegetable oil cooking spray.

Put the flour in a bowl and add enough milk to make a sticky consistency (the stickier you can handle the dough the lighter the biscuits).

Turn out on a floured surface and knead just enough to make the dough workable. Pat out with fingers until thickness desired. (You can use a rolling pin). Cut out biscuits. Put on the sprayed sheet. Spray the tops of the biscuits lightly; this will make the brown nicely.

Bake thin biscuits for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Thicker biscuits will take 35 to 40 minutes.
