Country Chili

Ingredients

1 large onion, chopped

1 clove garlic, chopped

1 tablespoon reduced-calorie margarine, melted

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon dried whole basil

1 teaspoon chili powder

½ teaspoon dried whole oregano

½ teaspoon dried whole thyme

¼ teaspoon pepper

1 (16-ounce) can whole tomatoes, undrained and chopped

1 (8-ounce) can red kidney beans, undrained

Instructions

Sauté onion and garlic in margarine in a large saucepan until tender.

Add salt, basil, chili powder, oregano, thyme, and pepper, stirring well.

Stir in tomatoes and beans. Simmer, uncovered, 10 to 15 minutes. Serve hot.
